Granted, I just woke up this morning and I'm a little dazed and confused. However, that doesn't explain the intoxicating effect of Obama's mendacious diatribe on CNN with Wolf "Blitzed" this morning. Taped or live, who knows, who cares a whit! I struggle to lift myself out of the rack, scratch in usual morning fashion, walk into the living room and begin to flip away with the remote. Now I'm being sucked into Obama's little world, woe is me.
It's a world of deception but it works for either pea-sized brains full of mush or sleepy brains like mine. "Rich people in this country are doing quite well at the expense of the middle class and they need to pay the same share they paid in the 90's" states Senator Obama. Continuing he said "We have corporate CEO's making more in one week than the average middle class person makes in a year." and I find myself nodding in approval with each intoxicating utterance! "Yeah, screw those CEO's" I think to myself and then it hits me......
"WHOAA, Mister Meat and Taters, this is Obama here you're agreeing with!" and suddenly I'm able to break myself free of the trance I have mysteriously slipped into. Such is the tremendously intoxicating power of "Class Warfare". It appeals to your base human instincts of jealousy, envy, what have you and even the most intellectual people on God's green earth can be victim to it. When a skillful orator like Obama can craft a "Class Warfare" message in such a mesmorizing (read Clinton-esque) fashion, it is almost impossible to resist!
But resist it we must and ask questions of these class warriors! Blitzer asked Obama: "How would you define rich?" and then he began to slow his speech, measure his words carefully and search for the right thing to say. He started at $200,000 to $250,000 but by the time the answer was finished, he was down to $100,000 dollars. Keep in mind that this was total income which for a married couple would be each wage-earner making $50,000 apiece! Think you qualify? By now I had snapped out of my trance and my ears perked up as I thought to myself: "Wow, that includes me (almost) as well as some of my friends AND WE'RE NOT RICH!!!" The point here is clear: Obama is out selling a tax increase that will leave almost nobody unscathed except perhaps the poorest of all Americans. In fact, even they may end up carrying a burden of sorts and here's why.
People making $100,000 or more, let's call them the "Obama-Rich" are in many cases business owners. They run the small businesses that do everything in your community. They fix the leaky faucet or the toilet that won't flush, they put the oil in your tanks during a cold New England winter and they pump out your septic tank with a cute motto like "your crap is my bread and butter"! These "evil" yet wealthy people PROVIDE US WITH A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE!!! Even the poor folks out there, defined by the government as having an income of less than $22,000, have a need for the aforementioned services do they not? When anyone of us call a small business for any kind of service, we will pay the burden of higher taxes on the "Obama-Rich", plain and simple. This is common sense but sadly this kind of analysis isn't all that common with today's liberal Democrats.
The key to keeping America strong is to keep small businesses strong! This has been one of the tenets of President Bush's tax cuts since they were enacted in 2002. Bush focused the tax cuts on "Subchapter S" businesses because he knows that they employ the majority of workers in America and that strategy has worked! The key to our future prosperity is to keep FUTURE GROWTH IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR AND NOT IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR. All raising taxes does is enable the public sector with their fancy offices, government vehicles and LIFETIME pensions to get stronger and take a bigger bite of the pie! Each time you see an article in the newspaper proudly stating how the government is hiring more workers, you should blow your top like Bill Clinton in a Fox News Sunday interview! Obama knows what Bill Clinton knows: That the way to grow the public sector is to sell the concept that YOU ARE A LOSER without government fighting for you and the way to do that is make the rich people pay their fair share.
Problem is: It didn't work in the 1990's as we look back and see China left us in the dust and terrorism grew unchecked, our military fell apart and big business fled America for any country with a lower corporate tax rate. Clinton's socialistic vision failed us just as Obama's vision will fail too. Those who fail to notice the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them, now who said that?
